What happens if I can't do the inspection within 3 days?

Every buyer has a 3-day inspection period that starts on shipment delivery (or pickup readiness).

Sometimes a buyer is not able to inspect the merchandise in that 3-day period. For example, maybe the buyer is traveling unexpectedly. In that case, the buyer has multiple options:

  • Ask the seller to extend the inspection period. The seller has the ability, but not the obligation, to extend the inspection period by up to 30 days.
  • Ask someone else to inspect the merchandise. For merchandise transferred through a gun dealer (firearms, etc), the buyer can ask the gun dealer to perform the inspection. For merchandise delivered directly to the buyer (ammunition, parts, etc), the buyer might ask a family member or neighbor to perform the inspection. The buyer might even use video chat or photos to be involved in the inspection.
